Eligibility Details
- Must have a Law Degree (LLB) from a university/institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Must have minimum 3 years experience as a practicing advocate as on 23 February 2026 (calculated from the date of provisional enrollment with the State Bar Council).

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
Used for shortlisting candidates for the Main exam.

2. Written (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type)
Consists of Compulsory + Elective subjects.

- Each elective paper = 150 marks
Relaxation
- 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for:
- Women candidates (reserved categories)
- Orthopedically disabled candidates (reserved categories)
3. Interview (Personality Test)
- Marks: 100
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 35%
- Candidates are called in a 1:3 ratio (3 candidates per vacancy).
Final Merit List
- Final selection is based on:
Main Examination Marks + Interview Marks - Prelims marks are not included.
- Candidates absent in the interview will not be considered for final selection.

How to Apply – 33rd Bihar Judicial Service Exam
- Visit https://bpsonline.bihar.gov.in and click on “New User Registration” to create your account.
- Verify your registration using a valid mobile number and email ID (OTP required).
- Important: Details like Name, Parents’ Name, Gender, Aadhaar Number, and Date of Birth entered during registration cannot be changed later.
- After registration, complete your profile by filling:
- Personal details (Category: UR/EWS/SC/ST/EBC/BC and disability status).
- Permanent and correspondence address.
- Information about any criminal case (if applicable).
- Educational details from Class 10th onwards (board/university, year, subjects, marks).
- Legal practice/advocate experience details.
- Upload a live photo through webcam and scanned signatures in Hindi and English (each under 20 KB, 150–220 px width, 75–100 px height).
- Click “Submit and Lock Profile” after verifying all details.
- Go to the “New Application” section and select the 33rd BJSE advertisement.
- Click Apply, verify details, then click Submit & Pay Fees.
- Examination Fee: ₹100 + bank charges.
- Biometric Fee: ₹200 extra if Aadhaar number is not provided.
- After successful payment, go to “My Account” and download/print two copies of the application form.
- Ensure each page contains your Application Number, Application ID, and Barcode.
- Do not send hard copies to BPSC at this stage; keep documents safe for interview verification.
- Keep the following original documents ready for later verification:
- 10th Certificate/Marksheet (Date of Birth proof).
- Law Degree and mark sheets.
- Certificate of minimum 3 years advocate experience (as on 23 February 2026).
- Caste/Category certificate (if claiming reservation).
- NOC (if working in Government/Semi-Government job).
