Eligibility Details

✅ Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute
    OR
  • Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute
  • Must be registered as Nurse & Midwife with State or Indian Nursing Council

✅ Option 2: Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM)

  • GNM Diploma from an INC/State Nursing Council recognized institute
  • Must be registered as Nurse & Midwife with State or Indian Nursing Council
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds
    (Experience should be after course completion, result declaration, and registration)

🗓️ Note: All qualifications and experience must be completed on or before the last date of online application.

Salary details

  • Basic Pay: ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month
  • Grade Pay (6th CPC reference): ₹4,600
  • Pay Level: Level 07 (as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix)

Selection Procedure

Stage I: NORCET Preliminary

  • Purpose: Qualifying exam only (no merit ranking).
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Questions: 100 MCQs (20 General Knowledge & Aptitude, 80 Nursing syllabus).
  • Marking: 1/3 negative mark for wrong answers.
  • Format: 5 sections (18 minutes each, 20 questions per section, sequential access).
  • Qualifying Marks: 50% (UR/EWS), 45% (OBC), 40% (SC/ST), with 5% relaxation for PWBD.
  • Next Step: Top 5x candidates per category (plus all PWBD qualifiers) advance to Stage II.

2. Stage II: NORCET Main

  • Purpose: Final merit list based on this stage.
  • Duration: 180 minutes.
  • Questions: 160 MCQs (Nursing syllabus, case-based).
  • Marking: 1/3 negative mark for wrong answers.
  • Format: 4 sections (45 minutes each, 40 questions per section, sequential access).
  • Qualifying Marks: 50% (UR/EWS), 45% (OBC), 40% (SC/ST), with 5% relaxation for PWBD.
  • Normalization: Applied if multiple shifts occur.

3. Tie Resolution

  • Older candidates ranked higher; if still tied, fewer wrong answers decide.

4. Merit List and Seat Allocation

  • Merit based on Stage II scores.
  • One round of seat allocation based on candidate preferences.
  • Candidates must join allocated seats or lose candidature.
  • No waiting list (exam held twice yearly).

5. Document Verification

  • Eligibility checked post-exam; original certificates required.
  • Missing or invalid certificates (including NOC for government employees) lead to cancellation.
  • Disqualification for ineligibility, misconduct, or false information at any stage.
