Eligibility Details

• Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university.

Selection Procedure

1. Preliminary Examination (प्रारम्भिक परीक्षा)

• Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions)
• Papers:
  • Paper 1: General Studies (सामान्य अध्ययन)
  • Paper 2: General Science & Mathematics (सामान्य विज्ञान एवं गणित) including Reasoning
• Total Questions: 150
• Marks per question: 1 mark
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
• Duration: 2 hours
• Qualifying in nature – marks not counted in final selection
• Candidates selected for Main Exam: 10 times the number of vacancies

2. Main Examination (मुख्य परीक्षा)

• Descriptive (Written) Exam
• Papers:
  • Paper 1: General Hindi (सामान्य हिन्दी)
    • Qualifying nature (minimum 30% marks required)
    • Marks not added to final merit
    • Total Marks: 100
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Includes Essay, Grammar, Vocabulary, Idioms/Proverbs
  • Paper 2: General Studies (सामान्य अध्ययन)
    • Marks counted for final merit list
    • Total Marks: 100
    • Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
    • Covers: General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, Current Events, History, Geography, Economy & Politics of India & Bihar

3. Final Selection

• Based on marks obtained in Paper 2 (General Studies) of the Main Examination only.
• Preliminary Exam and Hindi Paper are qualifying only and do not affect the final merit list.
