Selection Procedure – Assistant Prosecution Officer Exam 2025

1. Preliminary Examination

• Objective type (MCQ) paper with negative marking (–0.33 for each wrong answer).
• Purpose: to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination.
• Only 15 times the number of vacancies will qualify for the Mains.
• Minimum qualifying marks:
  • SC/ST: 35%
  • Others: 40%
• Use Black Ball Pen only on OMR sheets.

2. Main (Written) Examination

• Only candidates qualified in Prelims can appear.
• Separate application form + fee required.
• Fee structure:
  • General/EWS/OBC/Other States: ₹225
  • SC/ST (U.P.): ₹105
  • PH (U.P.): ₹25 (processing only)
  • Ex-Army (U.P.): ₹105
• Same roll number as in Prelims will be used.
• Six Papers:
  1. General Hindi – 100 Marks
  2. General English – 50 Marks
  3. General Knowledge – 50 Marks
  4. Criminal Law & Procedure – 100 Marks
  5. Shakshya Adhiniyam – 100 Marks
  6. Anya Adhiniyam – 100 Marks
• Duration: Hindi/English/GK – 1.5 hours each, others – 3 hours each.
• Candidates must attach self-attested mark sheets and certificates with the form.

3. Interview (Personality Test)

• Candidates equal to 3 times the number of vacancies will be called.
• Interview carries 50 Marks.
• Verification of all original documents will be done.
• Candidates must bring:
  • 4 passport-size photos (2 attested, 2 unattested)
  • No Objection Certificate (if employed)
• Presence in interview is compulsory.

4. Final Selection

• Based on total marks of Main Exam + Interview.
• Selected candidates will undergo Medical Examination.
