Eligibility Details

• Education: Must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board.
• Typing Skill:
  • English Typing Speed – 30 words per minute (w.p.m.), OR
  • Hindi Typing Speed – 25 words per minute (w.p.m.)

Selection Procedure – Head Constable (Ministerial) Delhi Police 2025

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE) – Conducted by SSC

• Objective-type online exam with 100 questions for 100 marks.
• Duration: 90 minutes.
• Language: English and Hindi.
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
• Normalization: Marks will be normalized for merit preparation.

Stage 2: Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT) – Conducted by Delhi Police

• Candidates up to 20 times the vacancies (per category) are shortlisted from CBE.
• Qualifying nature only – no marks added to merit.
• Includes Race, Long Jump, and High Jump (different standards for male & female).
• Physical Measurement Test checks height and chest.
• PwBD candidates are exempted from PE&MT.
• Conducted only in Delhi, along with Document Verification.

Stage 3: Typing Test on Computer – Conducted by Delhi Police

• Candidates who qualify PE&MT (or PwBD after CBE) appear in this test.
• Duration: 10 minutes.
• Maximum Marks: 25 marks.
• Minimum Speed Required:
  • English – 30 w.p.m.
  • Hindi – 25 w.p.m.
• Higher speed earns higher marks (up to 25 marks for very high accuracy and speed).

Stage 4: Computer (Formatting) Test – Conducted by Delhi Police

• Only for candidates qualified in Typing Test.
• Qualifying in nature.
• Covers MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
• 10 minutes per test.
• Must score at least 6 marks out of 10 in each section to qualify.

Final Selection and Merit List – Prepared by SSC

• Merit based on:
  1. Marks in Computer Based Examination (100 marks).
  2. Marks in Typing Test (25 marks).
  3. Bonus marks (if applicable) – e.g., NCC/RRU Certificates.
• Tie-Breaking Order:
  1. Older candidate preferred.
  2. Higher marks in CBE.
  3. Higher marks in Typing Test.
  4. Alphabetical order of first names.
• SSC also prepares a Reserve Panel (15% extra candidates) for Delhi Police.

Post-Selection Formalities – Handled by Delhi Police

• Medical Examination (DME/RME).
• Verification of character and background.
• Offer of Appointment issued to selected candidates.
• Must undergo the Residential Basic Training Course before joining duty.
