(Science) with Physics and Chemistry, securing at least 45% marks, with any of the following combinations: (a) Physics major + Chemistry subject (b) Chemistry major + Physics subject (c) Any other Science major (like Mathematics/Statistics) with both Physics and Chemistry as subjects. |

Selection Process – RRB JE / DMS / CMA Recruitment 2025
The recruitment will be conducted in four stages:
1. Computer Based Tests (CBTs)
The selection starts with two online exams – CBT-I and CBT-II.
Stage 1: CBT-I (Screening Test)
- Purpose: Shortlisting for CBT-II (common for all posts)
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 mins for scribe candidates)
- Questions: 100 (Objective type)
- Sections:
- Mathematics – 30
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25
- General Awareness – 15
- General Science – 30
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer
- Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS – 40%, OBC/SC – 30%, ST – 25%
Stage 2: CBT-II (Main Exam)
- Purpose: Final merit preparation
- Duration: 120 minutes (160 mins for scribe candidates)
- Questions: 150
- Sections:
- General Awareness – 15
- Physics & Chemistry – 15
- Basics of Computer & Applications – 10
- Basics of Environment & Pollution Control – 10
- Technical Abilities (Discipline Specific) – 100
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer
- Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS – 40%, OBC/SC – 30%, ST – 25%
- Shortlisting: Based on normalized marks of CBT-II
2. Document Verification (DV)
- Candidates are called in 1:1 ratio based on CBT-II merit.
- Original documents must be produced — no extra time given.
- Tie-breaking: Older candidate preferred; if same age, alphabetical order of name (A–Z).
3. Medical Examination (ME)
- Conducted by Railway Administration to check fitness as per required medical standards (A-3, B-1, C-1).
- Candidates failing in medical test are not eligible for alternate posts.
- One chance for medical appeal may be given under rules.
4. Final Empanelment & Appointment
- Final merit prepared based on CBT-II performance, DV, and Medical Fitness.
- Zone/post allotted as per merit, preference, medical standard, and vacancy position.
- Offer of Appointment issued by the concerned Zonal Railway.
- Verification of documents and background is mandatory before final joining.
