Selection Procedure

1. Merit Preparation

• Selection is purely merit-based (no written test, no interview).
• Merit is calculated from:
  • 10th/Matriculation % (minimum 50% required)
  • ITI %
• Both marks carry equal weightage.

Notes on Marks Calculation:

• If grading system in 10th: midpoint of grade range is used.
• All subjects treated as out of 100 for averaging.
• CGPA must be converted to actual marks before entering online.
• ITI marks: average of all semesters or marks shown in NCVT/SCVT certificate.

2. Final Merit List & Tie-Breaking

• Final merit list is prepared cluster-wise, trade-wise, and category-wise.
• Candidates are arranged in descending order of combined marks.

Tie-breaking rules:

1. Candidate older in age gets priority.
2. If DOB same → candidate who passed 10th earlier gets priority.

3. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Fitness

• All selections are provisional until documents are verified.
• Candidates must bring:
  • Original documents uploaded online
  • One set of self-attested copies
• Any mismatch between online data and original marksheets leads to rejection.
• Reservation certificates (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM) must be original.

Medical Fitness:

• Must meet fitness standards under Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
• Bring a medical certificate signed by a Govt. doctor (not below Asst. Surgeon rank).

4. Agreement of Training

• Selected candidates must sign a Training Contract before joining.
• If the candidate is a minor, the contract must be signed by their guardian.
