Eligibility Details

Technician Apprentice (Mechanical)	3 years full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering from Govt. recognized Institute. (Lateral entry: Class 12 (Science)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma also eligible).
Technician Apprentice (Electrical)	3 years full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Govt. recognized Institute. (Lateral entry: Class 12 (Science)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma also eligible).
Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation)	3 years full-time Diploma in any of the following from Govt. recognized Institute: – Electronics & Communication Engineering – Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering – Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering – Instrumentation & Control Engineering – Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering – Electronics Engineering (Lateral entry: Class 12 (Science)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma also eligible).
Trade Apprentice (Assistant – Human Resource)	Full-time Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from Govt. recognized Institute/University.
Trade Apprentice (Accountant)	Full-time Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in Commerce from Govt. recognized Institute/University.

Selection Procedure

• Merit List Based Selection
  • Selection will be based on a Panel cum Merit List (no written test or interview).
  • The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks in the essential qualification (aggregate of all semesters/years).
  • Candidates with CGPA/OGPA/Letter Grade must provide equivalent percentage conversion certificate from their Institute/University.
• Tie-Breaking Rules
  • If two candidates have the same percentage:
    1. The candidate older in age (earlier date of birth) will be given preference.
    2. If DOB is also the same, the candidate with higher marks in Matriculation (10th) will be considered.
• Reservation of Seats
  • Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/EWS as per Govt. rules.
  • Unfilled reserved seats will be reallocated in this order: SC → ST → OBC → EWS → UR (General).
  • Unfilled EWS seats may be filled by UR candidates in merit order.
• Medical Fitness Requirement
  • Candidates must be medically fit as per IndianOil’s pre-engagement medical standards.
  • Guidelines for medical standards are available on the application portal.
  • PwBD candidates must meet all other physical fitness standards except for their specified disability.
• Eligibility Restrictions
  • Not eligible if the candidate:
    • Has already undergone or is currently pursuing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act.
    • Has 1 year or more job experience after acquiring the prescribed qualification.
    • Has completed more than 5 years since acquiring the qualification (as on 31st August 2025).
    • Possesses or is pursuing higher professional qualifications (BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA, etc.).
• Document Verification
  • Provisionally selected candidates must attend document verification and medical fitness assessment.
  • Required documents:
    • 10th Certificate (for Date of Birth proof)
    • Caste/Category certificate (if applicable)
    • Mark sheets & final certificate of ITI/HSC/Graduation/Diploma
    • Aadhaar Card & PAN Card
    • Bank Passbook copy
    • Passport-size photograph
    • Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Certificate
