Eligibility Details

  • Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized Board.
  • Must have a valid Driving License for Motor Car (LMV) issued by a competent authority.
  • Should have knowledge of Motor Mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in the vehicle).
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience driving a motor car after obtaining the Driving License.
  • Must possess a valid domicile certificate of the concerned State.

Selection Procedure

Tier-I: Online Objective Test

  • Mode: Online (Objective type MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Marking Scheme:
    • Each question carries 1 mark.
    • ¼ mark negative marking for each wrong answer.

Sections in Tier-I Exam (20 marks each):

  1. General Awareness
  2. Basic Transport/Driving Rules
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning
  5. English Language

Cut-off Marks (out of 100):

  • UR: 30
  • OBC: 28
  • SC/ST: 25
  • EWS: 30
  • (Ex-servicemen will be treated in their own category – UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS)

Tier-II: Motor Mechanism & Driving Test cum Interview

  • Total Marks: 50
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40%
  • Assessment Areas:
    • Driving a motor vehicle as instructed by the examiner.
    • Practical knowledge of vehicle mechanism.
    • Identification and removal of minor defects/snags.
    • Vehicle upkeep and maintenance.

Important Points:

  • Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Tier-II, based on performance in Tier-I (subject to securing minimum cut-off marks).
  • Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II exams.
  • Tie cases will be resolved as per DoPT guidelines.
