Selection Procedure: Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 01/2026 & 02/2026

Stage-I: Computer-Based Online Examination

1. Identity Check & Document Verification

  • Candidate’s identity is verified using original ID (Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport).
  • E-admit card and two passport-size color photographs are mandatory.
  • Any mismatch in name, date of birth, or document details will lead to cancellation.
  • This is a preliminary check; detailed document verification is done in later stages.

2. Biometric Recording

  • Biometric data (left thumb or right if unavailable) is recorded for verification in all future stages.

3. Written Examination

  • Objective-type test with four options per question.
  • No negative marking.
  • Marks are normalized for fairness across shifts.
  • Candidates must pass all required sections based on category cutoffs.

Stage-II: PFT, Assessment, and Document Verification

1. Shortlisting and E-Admit Card

  • Shortlisted based on Stage-I performance and ICG center capacity.
  • Candidates must upload required documents and select a date & center.
  • Failure to upload or select center/date leads to cancellation.

2. Basic Identity and Biometric Verification

  • Identity is verified again at the reporting center using biometric data.

3. Assessment Test

  • OMR-based qualifying test (marks not counted in merit).
  • Only those who qualify proceed to the next phase.

4. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) (All tasks to be done continuously):

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
  • 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 push-ups

5. Document Verification

  • All online application details must match original documents.
  • Required: Class 10th/12th/Diploma mark sheets, ID proof, caste/domicile certificates.
  • Documents must be issued on or before the closing date of the application.

6. Recruitment Medical Examination

  • Conducted by authorized medical officers.
  • Candidates found unfit can appeal at designated military hospitals.

7. Merit List Preparation

  • Only candidates who clear document verification and are medically fit are included.
  • Final merit is prepared:
    • Zone-wise & category-wise for Navik (GD) and Navik (DB)
    • All-India & category-wise for Yantrik
  • Based on Stage-I marks, Stage-II qualification, and available vacancies.

Stage-III: Final Verification at INS Chilka

1. Provisional Shortlisting

  • Candidates in merit after Stage-I and Stage-II are called to INS Chilka.

2. Identity and Biometric Verification

  • Aadhaar-based check and biometric confirmation at INS Chilka.

3. Detailed Document Verification

  • Strict match required with online application details.
  • All documents must be valid till at least 31 July 2026.

4. Pre-Enrolment Medical Exam

  • Conducted if there is a time gap since Stage-II medical exam.

5. Submission of Documents and Police Verification

  • Original documents, police verification report (dated after application close), and other forms must be submitted.
  • Adverse or unverified police reports will result in disqualification.

Stage-IV: Final Verification Before Training

1. Final Document Verification

  • ICG verifies original documents through respective boards/universities/governments.
  • If any document is found fake or invalid, the candidate will be removed from service.
