Eligibility Details

PrincipalNot exceeding 50 years.(i) Master’s Degree from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks.

(ii) Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or Three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. or Four years integrated graduation degree (with B.Ed. component), all with at least 50% marks.

(iii) Experience: Persons holding analogous posts or posts of Principals in central/State Govt./Autonomous organization in the pay matrix of Level 12 (Rs. 78800-209200). OR Vice-Principal/Assistant Education Officers (Level 10/Level 12) OR PGT/Lecturer (Level 8) with 9 years of combined service as PGT and Vice Principal/PGT/Lecturer, including a minimum of 3 years as Vice Principal in the grade.
Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs)Not exceeding 40 years.(A) Integrated Post Graduate Course or Post Graduation (Master’s Degree) in the concerned subject, both with at least 50% marks in aggregate. AND

(B) B.Ed. Degree or Three years integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed., both with at least 50% marks. Subject-specific Master’s Degree requirements apply (e.g., PGT (Maths) requires a Master’s in Mathematics or specialization, having studied Mathematics at Graduation level).
PGT (Computer Science)Not exceeding 40 years.M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT) / MCA / M.E. or M. Tech. (Computer Science/IT) from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks in aggregate. (Note: B.Ed. is required for promotion in future).
Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) (All Main/Regional Subjects)Not exceeding 35 years.(A) Bachelor Degree in Subject: Four years integrated graduation degree course OR Bachelors/Honours Degree, both with at least 50% marks in all subjects individually and in aggregate.

(B) Bachelor Degree in Education: B.Ed. Degree OR Three years integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed., both with at least 50% marks.

(C) CTET (Paper-II) qualified, conducted by the Government of India, is mandatory. TGTs must have studied the concerned subject as an Elective/Main subject in all the three years of graduation.
TGT (Computer Science)Not exceeding 35 years.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application (BCA) OR Graduation (Under Graduate course) in Computer Science/IT with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject and in aggregate (Computer Science must have been studied in all three years) OR

Art TeacherNot exceeding 35 years.Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and Painting / Sculpture / Graphic Art / Fine Arts / Visual art from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks, provided the candidate studied Drawing and Painting as the Main subject in all the 3 years of graduation.
Music TeacherNot exceeding 35 years.Bachelor’s Degree in Music / Performing Arts from a UGC recognized institution with at least 50% marks in concerned subject and in aggregate, provided that Music subject was studied in all the 3 years of the degree as a main subject.
Physical Education Teacher (PET) (Male/Female)Not exceeding 35 years.Four-year integrated B.P. Ed. course OR Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education/Physical Education and Sports (with at least 50% marks), having studied Physical Education in all 3 years of graduation. OR

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education as an elective subject (with 50% marks) and participation in National/State/Inter-University competition.
LibrarianNot exceeding 35 years.Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science OR Bachelor Degree in Library & Information Science OR

Integrated Master of Library & Information Science. All must be from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
Female Staff NurseUp to 35 years.(1) B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing OR Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

(2) Registered as Nurse or Nurse Mid-wife (RN or RM) with any State Nursing Council.

(3) Two and Half years’ experience in minimum 50 bedded Hospital after acquiring (1) above.
Hostel Warden (Male & Female)Up to 35 years.Four years integrated graduation degree course of Regional College of Education OR Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/Institute.
AccountantNot exceeding 30 years.Bachelors Degree in Commerce from a recognized University/Institute. (Note: Bachelors in Business Administration is not eligible).
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)Not exceeding 30 years.Senior Secondary (Class XII) certificate from a recognized Board AND possessing minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English typing or 30 words per minute in Hindi typing.
Lab AttendantUp to 30 years.10th Class Pass with a certificate/diploma in Laboratory technique OR 12th Class with Science stream.

Selection Procedure – ESSE 2025

Mode of Examination

  • Tier-I: MCQ based (OMR, Pen-Paper mode) – Qualifying only.
  • Tier-II: Subject Knowledge (Objective + Descriptive, OMR based).
  • Tier-III (if applicable): Interview or Skill Test.

1. Principal

Stages of Selection:

  1. Tier-I: Preliminary Test (100 marks) – Qualifying.
  2. Tier-II: Subject Knowledge Test (100 marks). Shortlisting ratio 1:10.
  3. Tier-III: Interview / Personal Interaction.

Final Merit:

  • Tier-II (80%) + Interview (20%).

2. PGTs, TGTs, Librarian, Art Teacher, Music Teacher, PET, Hostel Warden, Accountant, Female Staff Nurse, Lab Attendant

Stages of Selection:

  1. Tier-I: Preliminary Test (100 marks).
    • For PGT/TGT: Language Competency (English + Hindi) is qualifying (min 40% overall, 8 marks in each).
    • Failing in language section → paper not evaluated.
  2. Tier-II: Subject Knowledge Test (100 marks). Shortlisting ratio 1:10.

Final Merit:

  • Based only on Tier-II marks (after document verification).

3. Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)

Stages of Selection:

  1. Tier-I: Preliminary Test (100 marks) – Qualifying.
  2. Tier-II: Subject Knowledge Test (100 marks). Shortlisting ratio 1:10.
  3. Tier-III: Typing Test (Skill Test, 50 marks) – Qualifying only. Shortlisting ratio 1:3.

Final Merit:

  • Based only on Tier-II marks (for candidates who qualify the typing test).

General Rules for All Posts

  • Document Verification: Only eligible candidates after DV will be included in the merit list.
  • Minimum Marks (Tier-II):
    • General/EWS: 30%
    • OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwBD: 25%
  • Tie-Breaker: Higher age → preference to older candidate.
  • Shortlisting for DV: Ratio 1:3 (except Principal & JSA where specific rules apply).

✅ In short:

  • Principal: Tier-II + Interview.
  • PGT/TGT & Others: Tier-II only.
  • JSA: Tier-II + Qualifying Typing Test.
