CTET 2026 Eligibility Details
Paper 1 Eligibility (Classes 1–5)
You must have any one of the following:
- 12th pass with 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed (passed/appearing)
- 12th pass with 45% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed as per NCTE 2002 norms
- 12th pass with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed
- 12th pass with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Special Education
- Graduation with 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed
- Post-graduation with 55% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed–M.Ed (must complete 6-month Bridge Course after appointment)
Paper 2 Eligibility (Classes 6–8)
You must have any one of the following:
- Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed
- Graduation with 50% marks + 1-year B.Ed
- Graduation with 45% marks + 1-year B.Ed as per NCTE 2002 norms
- 12th pass with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed
- 12th pass with 50% marks + 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
- Graduation with 50% marks + 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
- Any NCTE-approved B.Ed or Integrated B.Ed–M.Ed is also valid for Paper 2
Relaxation in Marks
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates: About 5% relaxation in required educational marks
(Example: 50% becomes 45%)
CTET 2026: Exam Pattern
- CTET is only an eligibility test, not a recruitment exam.
- You are considered CTET Qualified if you score 60% or above (i.e., 90/150).
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates may get relaxation as per the reservation rules of schools.
- CTET score gives you an eligibility certificate, but the final hiring depends on schools/government bodies.
- Recruiting authorities will verify your documents and eligibility at the time of appointment.
CTET 2026 – Exam Pattern (Simple Overview)
- Two Papers: Paper I and Paper II
- Both papers have MCQs (150 questions each)
- No negative marking
- Each paper: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Language: Hindi & English (bilingual)
- Paper Date: 08 February 2026 (two shifts)
- Marking: 1 mark per question
- Answers must be marked with blue/black ball-point pen on OMR (no pencil/gel pen)
Paper I (For Classes 1 to 5 – Primary Level)
Shift: 02:30 PM – 05:00 PM
Total Questions: 150
Total Marks: 150
All sections are compulsory.

How to Apply for CTET February 2026
Application Dates: 27 November 2025 to 18 December 2025 (11:59 PM)
Apply only through the official website: https://ctet.nic.in
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
Go to ctet.nic.in.
Step 2: Click “Apply Online”
Open the link labeled Apply Online on the homepage.
Step 3: Fill the Application Form and Register
Fill the Authentication Form (State, ID type, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin).
Complete the full Application Form and create a password.
After submission, a Registration/Application Number will be generated. Note it down for login.
Step 4: Upload Photograph and Signature
Upload scanned images in JPG/JPEG format.
Photograph: 10 KB to 100 KB, 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, recent photo.
Signature: 3 KB to 30 KB, 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm.
Step 5: Pay Examination Fee
Pay the fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
If the status is not “OK,” pay again; failed transactions are refunded within a week.
Step 6: Print Confirmation Page
After successful submission and fee payment, download and print the Confirmation Page for your records.
Do not send it to CTET.

Check the Information Bulletin to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
Enter your complete mailing address with PIN Code.
Submit only one application; multiple applications may lead to cancellation.
Use your own active mobile number and email ID.
Correction Window
After fee submission, most details cannot be edited.
A short correction window will be opened for limited changes such as name, parents’ names, DOB, category, disability category, Paper choice, subject for Paper II, languages, address, and B.Ed/Diploma details.
Corrections can be made only once and not after the final correction date.
