Selection Procedure – Sub-Inspector Prohibition
Stage 1: Written Examination
1. Preliminary Exam
- 1 Paper: 200 Marks, 100 Questions, 2 Hours
- Subjects: General Knowledge & Current Affairs
- Minimum Qualifying: 30%
- 20 times vacancies candidates selected for Mains
2. Main Exam
- Paper 1 (General Hindi): 200 Marks
- Qualifying only, marks not added in merit
- Minimum: 30%
- Paper 2 (General Studies): 200 Marks
- Marks counted for final merit
- Negative Marking: 0.2 mark for each wrong answer
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- 6 times vacancies candidates called for PET
- Qualifying only (no marks added)
- Events: Running, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put
- Run must be cleared first, otherwise disqualified
Stage 3: Final Merit List
- Merit based on Main Exam Paper 2 marks only
Minimum Marks for Merit:
- General: 40%
- BC: 36.5%
- EBC: 34%
- SC / ST / Women: 32%
