Eligibility Details
- Postgraduate degree (Master’s degree) in Chemistry, Life Science, Environmental Science, or Physics.
Selecton Procedure Assistant Environmental Scientist
1. Basis of Selection
The selection will be based on a Written Examination and an Interview (Oral Test).
2. Written Examination
- Total Marks: 400
- Pattern: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)

- Negative Marking: 0.33 (one-third) marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- If more than one option is marked, it will be considered wrong (even if one is correct).
- No penalty for unanswered questions.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: General: 40%, BC: 36.5%, EBC: 34%, SC/ST, Women, PwBD: 32%
3. Preference for Contractual Experience
- Candidates with experience on a contractual basis in the same post under State Departments/Institutions will get additional marks.
- Weightage: 5 marks per completed year of satisfactory service (maximum 25 marks).
- Fractional service will be calculated proportionately (based on days worked till 19.09.2025).
- Experience certificates must be issued by the competent authority (Member Secretary/Controlling Officer).
- These marks will be added only after securing minimum qualifying marks in the written exam.
4. Interview (Oral Test)
- Candidates qualifying in the written exam (including contractual weightage) will be called for Interview.
- Number of candidates called = 2.5 times the number of vacancies.
- Candidates securing equal cut-off marks in a category will all be called.
- Interview Marks: 50
- Presence in the interview is mandatory. Absence will disqualify the candidate from the merit list.
5. Final Merit List
- Prepared on the basis of Written Exam Marks, Contractual Experience Marks (if applicable), and Interview Marks.
- Tie-Breaking Rules:
- Candidate with higher marks in Written Exam will be preferred.
- If still tied, the older candidate will be preferred.
- If age is also the same, preference will be given alphabetically (in Devanagari script).
- No Revaluation: There is no provision for rechecking/revaluation of the answer sheets.
